Shortly after discovering Van Halen, at age 14, Massachusetts native Ben Cote began playing guitar. Heavily influenced by hard rock and heavy metal artists Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Randy Rhoads, The Runaways, Poison, Ted Nugent, and Eddie Van Halen; Ben spent his teenage years honing his craft; practicing incessantly and performing with multiple bands.

After a semester studying at Musicians Institute, in Hollywood, CA. Ben returned home to Boston where he attended the world-famous Berklee College of Music. During this time he formed The Ben Cote Band where he took on lead vocal duties, as well as playing guitar.

The Ben Cote Band performed across the Northeast, all the while full-time student, Ben continued performing with other bands.

Ben has opened up for artists such as Bret Michaels of Poison, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Lita Ford, Warrant, Black N’ Blue, Dizzy Reed of Guns N’ Roses, Kix, Mark Slaughter, and Vixen.

During his time at Berklee, Ben began to explore the world of songwriting and music production. In 2016, The Ben Cote Band released their first full length album; “Tight Jeans and Sunglasses”, which Ben co-produced with award winning David Minehan (The Neighborhoods, The Replacements). In 2017, The Ben Cote Band released the single “Why? (After All This Time)” which won Berklee College of Music’s 2017 Songwriting Award. In 2018, The Ben Cote Band hit their stride with their second LP, “Get Your Licks In”, which was accompanied by several music videos, including the award winning video for the title track.

During Ben Cote’s time at Berklee College of Music, he received the 2016 and 2017 Berklee Achievement awards, and the 2018 Berklee Professional Achievement Award. Upon graduation in 2018, Ben instructed guitar for Berklee’s 2018 and 2019 Summer Guitar Sessions. Ben is currently the full-time Guitar Department Coordinator at Berklee.

In 2019, The Ben Cote Band released six singles produced, engineered and mixed by Ben; as well as four music videos, including WooTube’s 2019 Music Video of the Year award winner, “Nine Seven Six”. In October of the same year the band released an EP entitled “It’s Pronounced ‘Cody’”. Their third LP is scheduled to release in 2020.

In addition to Anatomy of Sound’s groundbreaking guitar picks, Ben Cote is also endorsed by DiMarzio pickups, Xotic USA effect pedals, and Massachusetts boutique guitar company Sea Glass Guitars. In 2018, Ben co-designed his custom signature model guitar, the BC1, and is currently working with Sea Glass Guitars on his second signature model, the BC3, which is scheduled for a 2020 release.

“When you feel comfortable, you play better, and AoS guitar picks are the most comfortable on the market. They make a more natural playing experience that doesn’t get in the way of you and your guitar.

The AoS Bronze Bikini pick is my favorite! I never leave home without a couple in my pocket!””
